During Wake Up and Be Awesome Tour I had the opportunity of a life time when The Summer Set helped me reach my goal of being a Disney face painter. I’m still in disbelief that it happened. A few weeks before the tour I had filled out the forum on halfmoonkids.com. I never ever ever imagined that I’d be painting Brian’s face. Still today the whole experience seems very surreal to me. Previous to seeing The Summer Set that day I was more nervous than I think I have ever been before. All of The Summer Set are my idols. Just the thought that I’d be on their bus was freaking me out. To think that I would be putting paint on Brian’s face was just AHHH. Obviously, I was petrified that I was going to mess up. I mean, it’s Brian Logan Dales! Once I got on the bus they started to make me way way way way way more comfortable though. Everyone was joking around and it was just such a happy energetic environment (the same feeling you get when they’re playing). Stephen and Jess were talking about eating raw cookie dough and Stephen told us how he likes to microwave cookie dough until it’s all spongy then he eats it…ew. It just kind of felt like I was hanging out joking with my friends. It was the perfect was the perfect way to calm my nerves! Even through out the whole time I was painting Brain’s face everyone continued to joke around and have a good time. At one point like half the bus was chanting “Brian looks like a juggalo”. It was hysterical! What I remember most was having to ask Brian to close his eyes throughout the painting, even when it wasn’t necessary. His green eyes were so intense, I felt like he was staring into my soul. I remember then it was starting to sink in a little. Wow, I was on The Summer Set’s bus, painting Brian’s face. We finished up and Brave and John interviewed me afterwards. Everyone was so kind to me. Words can’t even express how much The Summer Set means to me. just a friendly reminder that for over a hundred years, pit bulls used to be referred to as “the nanny dog” and their main job was as babysitters.
- in temperance tests (the equivalent of how many times your kid can poke your dog in the eye before it bites him) of all breeds the most tolerant was the golden retriever. the second most tolerant was the pit bull. temperament evaluations by the american temperament test society give american pit bull terriers a very high passing rate of 82.6%, while the average passing rate for the other 121 dog breeds tested was only 77%.
- pit bulls are not naturally human aggressive. in fact pit bull puppies prefer human company to their mother’s two weeks before all other dogs.
- no spayed/neutered, indoor pit bull has ever killed a person.
- contrary to the popular myth, pit bulls DO NOT have locking jaws.
- approximately 6000 pit bulls are put to death every day, by far the highest number of any breed euthanized.
